While kayaking on the lake at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, Maryland, I was wowed when my kayak turned the bend and came upon this tiny, but impressive island of stone structures. Stonehenge was the first word that popped into my thoughts. There was a couple just completing 'their' creation as I paddled closer. They left a lovely 'footprint' in the environment for all to see. I highly recommend camping in this state park and the lake is perfect for kayaking; particularly if you are novice as am I.
Painting is a journey for me as is seeking a subject with my camera. Each blank canvas is a call to adventure. With the stroke of a brush, I embark upon a quest of self-discovery. It places me on the edge of being someone other than myself, being some place new and exciting, and often the journey leads me to places of profound inner peace.
