This creation in oil began with a palette of leftover paint. As we all do, it evolved into many different 'personalities'. When I first looked at it, I thought it was a tropical scene. Later, it seemed to involved into a doorway or a stained glass window. After I put the brushes down and walked away and came back to the easel, I saw a pair of intertwined hands. Imagination at work.
Painting is a journey for me as is seeking a subject with my camera. Each blank canvas is a call to adventure. With the stroke of a brush, I embark upon a quest of self-discovery. It places me on the edge of being someone other than myself, being some place new and exciting, and often the journey leads me to places of profound inner peace. The composition, colors, texture, lighting � they all have impact on me, but when I paint and photograph, it�s so much more than just a visual experience. At some point I become lost in the moment.
