It's been said, "a bad day of fishing is better than any good work day." While I don't fish, it is apparent that many do on a regular basis! It is a way of life. The photo opportunities are plentiful. Driving by a boat dock releases an air of relaxation. For the nature enthusiast, it doesn't get much better! But for the dedicated fisherman....the person who rises with energy at 4 am to drive an hour to the dock, to board a boat and sail miles into the vast ocean....this is a dream come true. This is a way of life. The perfect life. At the end of the day, the experience is the justification for doing it again and again...regardless if it is a good day or a bad day on the reel.
Painting is a journey for me as is seeking a subject with my camera. Each blank canvas is a call to adventure. With the stroke of a brush, I embark upon a quest of self-discovery. It places me on the edge of being someone other than myself, being some place new and exciting, and often the journey leads me to places of profound inner peace. The composition, colors, texture, lighting � they all have impact on me, but when I paint and photograph, it�s so much more than just a visual experience. At some point I become lost in the moment.
