Tybee Island is the easternmost point of the state of Georgia. The two lane road transporting you to the island crosses over a large marsh area. Several attractions, including the Tybee Island Lighthouse which remains one of just a handful of 18th century lighthouses still in operation in North America, invite the tourist. In my opinion the most fascinating and breathtaking attractions are the sunsets over the marsh area and the 'turtle crossings'. The sunset hues are brilliant, dramatic and absolutely mesmerizing.
Painting is a journey for me as is seeking a subject with my camera. Each blank canvas is a call to adventure. With the stroke of a brush, I embark upon a quest of self-discovery. It places me on the edge of being someone other than myself, being some place new and exciting, and often the journey leads me to places of profound inner peace.
