Description
Old barns, churches and stone structures are a few of my favorite scenes to paint or photograph. This stone foundation is what remains from a barn. An antique milk can doubles as the anchor base for the mailbox, completing the 'country' look in this view from the highway. Wildflowers mingle with the high grass and weeds, along with a few scattered Iris blooms. To me is says "Yesterday" and provides the sense of peace, simplicity and moment in a time and living a life unfamiliar to me. Yet, it draws me into the scene. While this image is not to far from my home, traveling through the rural areas of Pennsylvania, similar scenes are many. It's the beauty in nature that draws the viewer. I appreciate it each time I drive past.
