This photo was shot through the window of a train while riding the rails through the scenic mountains of Pennsylvania to the historic town of Jim Thorpe. When shooting on a moving vehicle, it is surprising for me when the image is captured. From the many I snapped during the rail ride, this is my favorite . I'll be using this as a reference photo for an oil painting.

Painting is a journey for me as is seeking a subject with my camera. Each blank canvas is a call to adventure. With the stroke of a brush, I embark upon a quest of self-discovery. It places me on the edge of being someone other than myself, being some place new and exciting, and often the journey leads me to places of profound inner peace.
